This is a direct, drop in replacement for the Raymarine M81105 Rotary Rudder Reference transducer. The original Raymarine / Autohelm Rudder Reference was prone to failure from water intrusion. i3DGear's version has been redesigned and improved to be much more waterproof than the Raymarine original. IP67 water proof, capable of complete submersion in 1m (3ft) of seawater for at least 48 hours. There isn't a rudder reference on the market that can come close to that!

This product has been quality tested for durability through 25,000 lock to lock steering cycles with no degradation in performance!

Comes complete with all the necessary mounting hardware, including the rudder reference, 2 ball joints, tiller pin, screws, and a 12" threaded linkage rod/stud with 2 nuts to connect the rudder to the rudder reference. IMPORTANT: If you're replacing an existing rudder reference, then just order the unit with the supplied 3' (1m) of cable and splice it into your existing cable (waterproof gel splicing connectors are supplied). Otherwise, order the total number of feet of cable you need for your installation - up to 30'.

Comes with detailed installation instructions and is 100% compatible with the Raymarine product. Even the hole pattern is identical. The rudder reference rotation range is -60 to +60 degrees, exactly the same as the original Raymarine product. If your rudder rotates greater than this angle, it is a simple matter to place the tiller pin mount point at a smaller radius to accommodate.
